At Buckeye Gardener, we believe that the devil is in the details. We are committed to quality above all else. We are not a large company. We don’t have a bunch of crews going out every day, and we don’t have a large staff of pushy sales people. What we do have are dedicated hard working folks striving every day to perfect their craft.

Lawn Aeration
Spring and Fall aerations allows drainage of water through the turf, and gets oxygen and nitrogen to the roots. It also helps to prevent thatch (dead grass) from building up.
Spring & Fall Cleanup Leaf Removal
Excess pine needles and leaf material, in flower beds and on grass, can cause a number of problems. If yard debris is allowed to build up on grassy areas, it can cut off the life giving light provided by the sun. No light equals no photosynthesis. And when leaves and debris are allowed to pile up in plant and flower beds, the ground is unable to change temperatures with the seasons. Ground temperature is essential to healthy trees and shrubs. Whereas the lack of light in the fall causes deciduous trees and shrubs to lose their leaves and shut down for the winter, it is the temperature of the ground in the spring that dictates the start of the growing season. A thick coat of leaves can slow the warming process effectively shortening the amount of time for growth.
Lawn & Yard
We offer a complete line of lawn and yard maintenance services to include mowing, weeding, and edging. We can accommodate our customer’s needs whether it be weekly or even bi-weekly mowing. We string trim every time to give your yard a groomed look and we will edge sidewalks and curbs a couple of times during the year to give your yard crisp, even lines. We also offer a bi-weekly weeding regiment to eliminate weeds in beds, on sidewalks, and on curbs. Call and ask us about about our complete maintenance packages.
Trimming & Pruning
Proper trimming and pruning of trees and shrubs is essential to the health and longevity of the plant. We are careful to remove all dead branches, limbs, and unnecessary growth which can put a strain plantlife. We also have a good eye for shape when it fits the situation by making your hedgerows and shrubs neat and even for a clean and groomed look.
Irrigation
Complete irrigation installation, start-up, maintenance, and blowouts. Water is the single most important thing when it comes to the health and look of your yard and garden. Too much or too little can wreak havoc on trees, shrubs, flowers, and turf areas. Water is also not something to be wasted. We work hard to ensure that every square foot of your yard and garden gets proper coverage and that water waste is eliminated.
Design
We work closely with our customers to address their wants and needs in order to give them the yard they’ve always wanted. It goes further than just making your yard aesthetically pleasing. As trends and styles change we are in a constant dialogue with all of our suppliers so that we always know what materials are available. We are keenly aware of spacing, size, and variety when it comes to trees, shrubs, and flowers which allows us to do more than just give your yard the look you deserve. In many cases we can create a new environment or micro-climate for your garden home.
Snow Removal
Whether it’s an inch or a foot, we’ll move it for you. We are on call twenty four hours a day during the winter months and will brave the frigid temperatures so that you don’t have to.
Sod
Grassy areas are a great way to fill space in your yard, and a nice lawn can make you the envy of all of your neighbors. We can install any size area you would need whether its one hundred square feet for a transition between beds, drives, and walks to thousands of square feet for full size turf areas.
Mulch & Decorative Rock
We can install any amount or variety of mulch and decorative rock to your beds and boulevards. Decorative rock with landscape fabric underneath is a great deterrent for growth of weeds and volunteer trees and shrubs. Mulch also creates a barrier to help prevent weeds while keeping the ground an even temperature throughout the growing season. Both options help retain moisture in the soil which is necessary for healthy growth and water conservation.
Patios & Walks
Concrete is boring and expensive. In most cases we can install patios and walks for less money and you’d be surprised at how strong we can make them. From pavers and flagstone to sunken timbers, we give you both functionality and beauty for many years to come.
Fire Pits
At Buckeye Gardener we feel like your yard should be a place where people can gather and spend precious time together. Nothing can do this better than friends and family circling a warm fire on cool evenings. Using a variety of materials such as boulders, blocks, and bricks, we can integrate a fire pit into almost any yard and make it a centerpiece for folks to get together and enjoy each other’s company.
Retaining Walls
There are a number reasons you might need a retaining wall installed in your yard. From terracing a steep slope to building raised beds, we offer a variety of options to fit your needs. Blocks, timbers, or dry stack boulders and building stones are common, but we also love to reuse and repurpose any number of materials.
Synthetic Putting Greens
Perfect for people who want sharpen their short game without having to drive to the golf course. We use the highest quality synthetic turf and a pin-less system to transform almost any space into a fully functional year round putting green. Multiple cups and a fringe can be added for more realism. And for you folks with a bigger yard, we can even build you a chipping green to practice those medium shots.

Last year I contacted Jack DeChant owner of Buckeye Gardner about doing some landscaping in my backyard. Jack had so many great ideas on how to terrace the steep hill in the back, I was so excited that Jack LISTENED to how I wanted the backyard to be family friendly and useable, that soon we had added the putting green idea(that I had been thinking about for years) to the landscaping plan. Jack carefully planned how to irrigate the terracing for plants and make sure the putting green would withstand not only golf balls but deer frolicking on the putting area as well.
